The 15th edition of Asia cup will be played on United Arab Emirates from 27th August. It will be a t20 format for this time. This series was originally scheduled to be played on September 2020 and then postponed to July 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was then rescheduled (due to COVID) to take place in Sri Lanka in June 2021. After being rescheduled Pakistan was holding rights to host Asia Cup 2022 edition. But, in October 2021 Asian Cricket Council Appointed Srilanka as Host of 2022 edition of Asia cup and declared that Pakistan will be host of Asia Cup for the year 2023.
Later on Sri Lanka Cricket declared that they are not in position of hosting the tournament in Sri Lanka due to some reasons so they will now host this Asia cup on United Arab Emirates
